Don Bosco Vazhikaatti is part of the Salesian Province of Chennai, operating under the Youth Ministry Department focusing on the Vocational Dimension. The Province of Chennai (INM) works throughout the Union Territories of Puducherry and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the following districts of Tamil Nadu having its headquarters at Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur, Tiruvanamalai, Villupuram, Krishnagiri, Cuddalore, Niligiris, part of Erode and Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates.
The future of humanity hinges on educating today’s youth to embrace a culture of life that fosters a society of equality, justice and harmony. Recognizing that youth are the architects of the future, Don Bosco Vazhikaatti (DBV) is dedicated to guiding them towards genuine career fulfilment as part of its service to humanity. inspired by Saint John Bosco – affectionately known as Don Bosco – who devoted his life to the welfare and advancement of youth, especially the poor and unemployment. DBV aims to lead deserving students particularly in rural areas, towards happiness, fulfilment and successful career.
To realize this vision, the Salesians of the Chennai Province established the Don Bosco Vazhikaatti Centre in Chennai on 17th September 1997, focusing on Career Guidance, Training and Job Placements. Now it’s in 27th Years of service DBV has expanded its reach across Tamil Nadu with its headquarters in Perambur, Chennai. There were eight Sub-Centres: Vellore, Thiruvanamalai, Dharmapuri, Chengalpattu, Hosur, Sathyamangalam, Kotagiri and Puducherry.
Don Bosco Vazhikaatti’s mission is to create an inspiring and optimistic learning environment for underprivileged youth. By instilling a positive mindset, indispensable skills and profound knowledge. DBV moulds the character of young individuals transforming them into productive and responsible citizens. This comprehensive approach equips them with the tools needed for personal and professional success and ensures they contribute significantly to building a better society.
